How do Shopee and Lazada fees affect my pricing strategy?

Platform fees must be factored into your selling price to protect margin. A common mistake is pricing at cost + desired margin without accounting for fees. For example, on Shopee Mall at 18.5% total fees, a $100 product generates only $81.50 before COGS and ads. Work backwards from your target margin: if you need 30% gross margin and your COGS is $40, your minimum viable selling price on Shopee Mall is approximately $40 ÷ (1 − 0.185 − 0.30) = $77.
